I've collected a set of links for you to enjoy!

If you've been hearing about the falsified rumor, [personal profile] unixronin made an interesting post about what happens when Betelgeuse goes nova--as it will someday, even if it's not soon.

[personal profile] hat_of_nikitich drew a mortician under the dominance of a sentient octopus.

[personal profile] rydra_wong wrote a thoughtful essay of what rock climbing means to her, like chess for your body, or a crossword puzzle you dance. If you're a rock climber, be sure to check out the [community profile] disobey_gravity community.

[personal profile] neverspent teaches us how to taste honeysuckles.

[personal profile] shrii writes a touching account of her first salaam.

And if you like Asian art, [personal profile] oona is sharing her favorites over at [personal profile] hanaogi.

Sorry for the AWOL, folks! But I'm back with more things to share, like [personal profile] semtex's December Draw-Off. Examples include a cephalapod, adorable kittens, and portraits of women strange, elegant, or tragic.

semtex describes the rules and purpose of December Draw-Off )

You can find the entire set of entries under the december draw-off tag.

This portrait of Liv Tyler by [personal profile] pearleyed caught my eye because of its meticulous portrayal of long, loose hair. If you look around her journal, you can find other instances of her art, including a video of the making of a drawing!

Are you a lover of independent films or just films in general? Then you might like to subscribe to [personal profile] pulchritude, who posts a variety of efficiently concise movie reviews (and book reviews, too) with their accompanying promotional image.

[personal profile] pulchritude is Han Chinese by birth and upbringing, but has spent a lot of time in the US as well and is currently studying for a master's in gender studies in the UK.

To kick off this community, [personal profile] frith's journal is full of wonderful pictures of zoo animals.

Did you know that bears like pumpkins? Squirrels do, too! Lemurs, on the other hand, like dandelions.

Porcupines can end up with adorable babies, despite contraceptives, and they grow up fast.

You can also find baby llamas as well as wallabies and yaks.

Updates are sporadic, but new readers are welcome!

If you have something you want to submit to [community profile] dreamlight, comment here! We're looking for:

* Interesting posts.
* Interesting sets of posts, such as a particular tag on a journal.
* Interesting journals, especially themed ones.
* Interesting communities, especially active ones. At the very least, they need to have active admins.

It's okay if content is cross posted or mirrored, as long as commenting is available on Dreamwidth.

[community profile] dreamlight asks for permission. If you're submitting something of your own, I'll assume you've given permission. If it's somebody else's, I'll be asking for permission, unless you've already asked and gotten a positive response that I can see.

Note that [community profile] dreamlight is for non-fandom content--if you know of a similar fandom-focused promotion community, let me know and I'll put it here!
